A whopping 68.75 percent of Pulse Nigeria Poll voters believe that Nigeria should close down South African businesses in the country following the xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in that country.

The widespread xenophobic attacks in South Africa is gradually taking its toll in other spheres of life as businesses and other social activities have been paralyzed in that country.

The attacks has drawn the attention of the world as the citizens have taken out their frustration on other African immigrants, maiming them, destroying their businesses and even killing some.

As expected, Nigerians living in that country are not spared as they seem to be the major target of these attacks.

According to the Nigerian Consul-General, Nigerians have lost more than N21 million naira in their businesses and properties since the attacks started.

This unfortunate situation prompted some Nigerians back home advocating the closure of businesses that has South African interests in Nigeria.

Many people even said Nigerian youths should take some drastic steps in forcing the closure of these businesses and a whopping 68.75 percent of Pulse readers believe so in the poll carried out on April 21, 2015.

Only 31.25 percent thought otherwise.

How Nigeria voted:

68.75% - Yes, it is the right thing to do
