Come away with me

Several years of marriage with no child… his wife has no reproductive system or health challenges, he finally summed up courage to go do his own check and to his relief… and confusion… he was cleared too. So what could be the problem?

All his friends who married the same season with him have children, all his younger siblings, both male and female, full siblings and step siblings have either rounded up or are rounding up on child bearing and here he is childless, confused and near depression.

His wife would not hear any suggestions on adoption and according to doctors, the clock ticks fast against her.

With all the wealth life has bequeathed him, his life is a total misery…

She has been in school 2 years after she was supposed to graduate. Pam knew she was not a dull head, in fact, through secondary school she has been among the top three in the entire school and that without stressful efforts like other students. She has a photographic memory and needed to read through her books only once and she was ready to give it all back in her tests and exams. But here she was, after her third year, everything changed.

She seemed to have lost the ability to remember anything, she now has to read and study her books for hours unending yet she lacked the ability to put down anything substantial when required of her.

Grady has lost faith in the system. He graduated over ten years ago but could not gain employment. He is an above average guy, he believed that not making a first class was not the issue because he knows many of his colleagues who cannot compete with him who are well established in reputable organizations or own their business.

He has tried to set up businesses but his ideas have been stolen, financing refused, monies stolen…

Monica and her family are on the run due to the commotion in her city, they barely managed to escape like out of fire, without a pin and a dime. They have tried to receive help but have been refused and treated as suspects. Now they have to live on the streets and beg to eat. The children are nearly sick to death and hospital cannot even be thought of. She and her husband sit and watch, hoping they will survive the day.

I know you have your own story. It may not be like the ones for the people I have mentioned but there is something that gives you real concern, sleepless nights, something that you wish you had a solution to, something that bothers your mind. Something you wish you had or were, or something you wish you did not have or are not.

Troubled Times In A troubled World.We live in very troubling times in a troubled world. Every day old and new problems arise, news of devastation, hopelessness, despair, heartaches, depression, panic, wars, fightings, killings and many other terrible things and situations.

Peace and rest are so out of reach, people live in fear, cannot take two steps without looking over their shoulders. Hunger and starvation is ravaging the lives of men and families, uncertainty has become the norm for many as they are not sure of what might become of them or their loved ones.

Reading through to this point will paint a picture of hopelessness. While the situation is real, there is a peace and rest that can be found even in these dire economic and life situations. This peace and rest is not in money, health, houses, lands, businesses or any other thing.

Peace And Rest.In the midst of all this chaos and hardship, there is an invitation to peace and rest that no man has genuinely honoured and regretted. There is a peace giver, a rest giver, a burden bearer who is calling out to any who cares to listen…

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

Matthew 11:28-30 AMP

If you come to Jesus and lay your burdens at His feet He will take care of you and your worries. In the midst of the troubles of life you can live in peace, you can be at rest. Jesus knows the troubles you face, He knows that there will always be troubles in life but read what He has promised…

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33 NIV

You see, God has made provision for the troubles of life. If you will only accept the invitation to ‘come to Him’ to ‘come away’ with Him, He will teach you how to live freely and lightly. He will show you how to rest in the midst of troubled times. He will lead you out of all the calamities life has put on you.

He is still calling; ‘come to me, come away with me…’
