Pulled Out of UFC Belgrade, Then "Took a Beating" in Abu Dhabi: Uzbek Fighter Dismantles Guskov, Temirov's Brutal Knockout Will Be Talked About for Ages! /VIDEO/

Magomed Ankalaev, former UFC light heavyweight champion, defeated Bogdan Guskov in the main event at UFC Abu Dhabi.

The Dagestani fighter secured a technical knockout in the fifth round, making a triumphant return to the octagon after his loss to Alex Pereira last October at UFC 320, where he relinquished his championship belt. Ankalaev was originally slated to face Khalil Rountree, but the American's injury opened the door for Guskov to step in as a replacement, facing the biggest challenge of his career. Interestingly, Guskov's last-minute decision to take this fight meant he withdrew from the UFC event in Belgrade, scheduled for August 1st.

The first three rounds were characterized by tactical maneuvering and cautious striking. Both fighters circled the cage, waiting for an opponent's mistake. The bout only truly ignited in the fourth round when Ankalaev took the fight to the ground. There, he quickly demonstrated his superiority, securing a dominant position and ending the round with a barrage of powerful ground and pound strikes.

At the start of the decisive fifth round, Guskov attempted to surprise Ankalaev with a submission attempt, but the Dagestani easily defended and re-established complete control on the mat.

A series of brutal ground and pound strikes followed, forcing referee Marc Goddard to stop the fight, deeming Guskov unable to adequately defend himself. With this technical knockout victory, Magomed Ankalaev marked his powerful return to the scene after losing his title.

Temirov's Brutal Knockout

During the Abu Dhabi event, we also witnessed an incredible knockout by Uzbek fighter Ramazan Temirov, who, in the flyweight division (up to 57 kg), quite easily defeated former title challenger Steve Erceg.

With this victory, Temirov achieved his 13th stoppage win in the first round. Furthermore, he extended his winning streak to 12 consecutive victories. It's also worth noting that this was his third UFC appearance, and he remains undefeated on the biggest MMA stage. He is undoubtedly one of the top fighters in the flyweight division.
