Cuthbert, who is celebrating his 26th birthday on Tuesday, has scored 37 tries in 79 appearances for the Blues, having made his debut during the 2011-12 season.

"I've really enjoyed the environment and culture this season at Cardiff Blues under [head coach] Danny Wilson and the direction we are all now heading in," he told the Blues' official website.

"The players have really bought into the style of rugby we're looking to produce and that has been reflected in the results over the last six months.

"I'm pleased to sign a new contract at Cardiff Blues and looking forward to getting back to full fitness and the start of next season."
