Administrators of the Premier League, E
According to a report by BBC Sport, the administrators of the English football competitions made the decision to curb the intolerable behaviour after poor conduct has reached "unacceptable levels".
The report also revealed that starting form this season, red cards will be issued to players who confront, use offensive language or make gestures towards match officials.
It was further disclosed that behaviour within the technical areas will also be more rigorously enforced by the administrators of the English football competitions.
The Premier League chairman, Richard Scudamore backed the plans saying there has been concern over players overstepping the mark.
In his words, "It is our collective position that these types of behaviour should no longer be tolerated. Things happen in the heat of the moment during fast and highly competitive football. We still want to see the passion fans enjoy and demand, but players and managers have to be aware there are lines that should not be crossed."
