Kevin De Bruyne running the show
He has been the talks of pundits so far this season and rightly so, Kevin De Bruyne is clearly running the Premier League right now.
Manchester City continued their impressive start to the season with a 6-0 win away at Watford with De Bruyne in charge of proceedings. The Belgian has a new role this season and in it, has become Manchester City’s conductor.

Every good thing about Manchester City going forward starts with him, in his new box to box role, De Bryune is even helping out his defence too.
Against Watford, the midfielder created 4 chances and won a whopping 60 percent of his tackles, that’s how well-rounded his performance was against Watford.
De Bruyne at the heart of the best team in the Premier League so far this season and has been difficult to contain.
Arsenal win without their stars
Arsenal without Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil in their starting XI for their Chelsea game offered a glimpse of what team squad might look like with their expected departures next summer.
But with the forceful and disciplined performance put in by Arsene Wenger’s men, Arsenal fans have little to worry about. Sanchez and Ozil remain huge players and massive plus to any team, but Arsenal do not have enough to cover their weakness.
Without the duo, Arsenal were more of a team, with a fluid and mobile front-midfield two of Alex Iwobi and Danny Welbeck. The defensive discipline showed by Iwobi and Welbeck helped the midfield duo of Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey and ultimately the Gunners display.
This doesn’t take Sanchez and Ozil out of the team but lays a benchmark for them to meet when they return to the starting XI.
Wembley not stopping Spurs’ goals
Tottenham continued their winless Premier League streak at Wembley with a goalless draw against Swansea.
Following the stalemate, talks have been about a ‘Wembley hoodoo’ on Tottenham but that’s nonsense. Spurs have started the season poorly and that’s it. Yes, there have been away wins at Newcastle United and Everton but the loss to Chelsea and the home draws against Burnley and Swansea have nothing to do about hoodoo.
What type of hoodoo allows you to outplay teams at home without a win? What type of hoodoo allows you to get a Champions League home win and not in the Premier League.
Some sections of the media also believe Tottenham have not mastered their new home but I wonder how well they know Goodison Park and St James Park to have gotten wins there.
Spurs winless streak at Wembley has everything to do with football and nothing to do with hoodoo.
Klopp out?
Some cries of ‘Kloop out’ have started ringing out of Anfield and no matter how ridiculous it might sound, Jurgen Klopp has given them a voice.
Failure to fix a problematic defence since he took on the job, a worse record than Brendan Rodgers and general unconvincing displays have brought about questions on Kloop’s ability to lead the Liverpool to the title.
The occasional big wins against the ‘top five’ teams seem not enough to cover Kloop’s obvious tactical deficiencies. Putting together a team and expecting them to always outrun their opponents is not the right way to win the league.
Kloop has to be creative, with his starting XI, his line-ups and most importantly with his defence. Not long now before the banners and planes are out.
