1. Brighton & Hove Albion 0 Vs Manchester City 2: No problem in sight for Manchester City
Manchester City made a light work of Premier League new comers Brighton & Hove Albion. Pep Guardiola’s men dominated the game from start to finish and there is no doubt that they will dominate opponents in the league in a similar manner this season.
While Pep’s preferred starting XI was on the field, his bench also showed why there is no problem in sight for Manchester City.
2. Manchester United 4 Vs West Ham 0: Lukaku will score goals
Football Twitter and bants would have made you believe Manchester United splashed huge cash on the wrong player in Romelu Lukaku. His ‘horrible’ first touch was often talked about but all that didn’t matter on his league debut for Manchester United.
Easy brace for Lukaku, but who’s surprised, not Premier League followers. 88 league goals in the last five seasons, that’s how good he is and that’s how brilliant he will be for Manchester United.
3. Arsenal 4 Vs 3 Leicester City: Arsene Wenger hesitating again

Look we’ve all been here before, Arsenal scoring lots of goals and conceding in the same manner. No team wins the Premier League title with the type of defending we see from Arsenal.
With Alexis Sanchez staying, Arsenal have a lot of quality going forward to properly challenge for the league but conceding three goals at home against Leicester City is not the stuff of champions. It’s simple really, go out and get a proper defender to play with Laurent Koscielny and Shkodran Mustafi in defence. With a proper defence, Arsenal will hurt many teams this season but with Wenger hesitating in the transfer window again, it could be the same old story in May 2018.
4. Watford 3 Vs Liverpool 3: Liverpool can’t defend
It’s as simple as that, Liverpool can’t defend and Jurgen Klopp after over 100 games as manager has not been able to fix it.
42 goals Liverpool conceded last season in the Premier League and against Watford it was obvious Klopp has not worked on his defence. His pursuit of Virgil van Dijk is well known, but Liverpool’s problem is not the issue of personnel rather it’s of the organization and the confidence is waning on Klopp to fix it.
5. Chelsea 2 Vs Burnley 3: Conte may not survive
Looking back now, Antonio Conte knew what was coming when he warned against having a ‘Jose Mourinho’ season in reference to how Chelsea crashed in the 2015/2016 season after winning the Premier League title the previous season.
Conte is an experienced manager who had seen how swiftly the Premier League have changed in just four months since he won the title. He knew other teams had gotten better, he knew his favoured three-man defence system had been adopted and studied well by opposition managers.
He knew all these but yet could not prevent what happened in the 3-2 home loss to Burnley.
Maybe it’s not the time to press the panic button but with his next game away at Spurs and almost half of his first team players out, I don’t think Conte will survive. Carlo Ancelotti and Jose Mourinho would think so too.
