On this weekly column, we highlight five of the biggest lessons we learnt from matchday 23 of the Premier League

1. Manchester United 0 Vs Southampton 1: Louis van Gaal the problem

I have always been a fan of Louis van Gaal; why won’t I?

About seven league titles, a Champions League trophy and several other achievements, Louis van Gaal is a proven coach who should have never been doubted by anybody.

But Manchester United results is proving that Van Gaal has forgotten how to win.

I was of the opinion that Manchester United players are yet to adapt to the style of Van Gaal but after two pre-season and his second year at the club, the Dutch coach has done nothing so far at Old Trafford.

At this point during David Moyes’ era, United had more points than they have today.

Van Gaal has spent much money and time at the club than Moyes and yet the team has not improvement.

Van Gaal is the problem.

2. Leicester City 3 Vs Stoke City 0: The Foxes should be taken serious

Leicester City are top of the Premier League in the week 23 and yet pundits are not taking them serious.

Their 3-0 win over Stoke City showed exactly why Claudio Ranieri’s men should be taken very seriously.

With Arsenal and Manchester City fumbling and Tottenham still not strong enough,, Leicester City have what it takes to win the Premier League.

With no European midweek engagement and already out of the FA Cup, the Foxes have just the Premier League to focus on.

Over the season, Leicester City have proven that they have a strong first team beat in the league and with no other competition to focus on, they can afford to have the required rest between games to keep themselves fresh till the end of the season.

Their next three games -Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal-  if they come out of these games still on top, the Premier League is in for a shock.

3. Crystal Palace 1 Vs Tottenham 3: Mauricio Pochettino forming a league winning team

As an Arsenal fan, I’m not happy with myself for having this opinion, but Mauricio Pochettino is putting together a title winning side.

From what I saw in their impressive 3-1 win at Crystal Palace, Spurs have all it takes to win the league.

Great goalkeeper, fantastic defence, good midfield, and a prolific striker.

What more do you need? Experience which they don’t have.

The title this season might be too much of a big call for them, but the Premier League title is very near if they keep this squad.

Closer to the Premier League title maybe more than their more illustrious North London neighbors, Arsenal.

God forbid.

4. West Ham 2 Vs Manchester City 2: City too disjointed to win the League

Manchester City with their financial strength and squad should be running away with the Premier League.

City should be on top of league which Leicester City (with all due respect) are leading.

But they are not.

Watching their game against West Ham and I was saying to myself, 'this is not a team'.

This is not a squad that are relying on the strength of one another, rather this is a team that is waiting for one person to do the magic.

City are too disjointed and no wonder Manuel Pellegrini will be sacked no weather he wins the leage title or not.

Arsenal 0 Vs Chelsea 1: Arsene Wenger cannot deliver the title

Arsenal will never win another big trophy with Arsene Wenger in charge.

Another game against Chelsea, another defeat for Arsenal who showed why they will never win another serious trophy with Wenger again.

Both Wenger and his players started the game against Chelsea in a jittery manner.

The players were clueless, played without heart and clearly didn’t have winning in mind. Take the red card out of your mind, that wasn’t the reason why Arsenal lost this game.

They lost because neither the manager nor his players took the match serious. Choosing to give the captain band to Theo Walcott to celebrate his 10 years at Arsenal was a play move. Was it a testimonial game? I don’t understand this club.

Taking out Olivier Giroud, statistically one of the best strikers in the league and leaving Walcott on the pitch to fool around was disheartening.

Arsenal conceded a late goal at Liverpool to lose three points, they celebrated getting a draw at Stoke City and have now been beaten home away by possibly the worst Chelsea team in 10 years.

If you think Arsenal can win the title now, you are joking.
