A tragic event shocked Tenerife when a 53-year-old Czech photographer drowned during a photo session on the coast of Puerto de la Cruz. According to Tenerife Weekly, the man was swept away by rough waves while trying to capture the beauty of nature in photos.

At the time of the incident, a severe weather alert was in force in the Canary Islands. Despite this, the photographer decided to do a risky session at the shore.

The rescue services were notified about the incident after 4 pm. Various units took part in the operation, including a helicopter, a sea rescue boat, local police and the civil guard. The man was located from the air. After pulling him out of the water, resuscitation was started, but unfortunately it did not bring the expected results. The 53-year-old died despite intensive efforts by rescuers.

The General Directorate for Emergency Situations of the Government of the Canary Islands warns against high waves and recommends refraining from taking risks when taking photos or recording videos. Walking on trails along the coastline is also discouraged.
