Born in HenshawTown, Calabar, CrossRiverState, Nigeria, Kate, who read MedicalMicrobiology at the University of Calabar, made her debut in the movie world in the 1993 super movie, , and went on to act in more than 200 movies.

The recently divorced Kate, who is now an author after she penned her own autobiography, has won many awards including African Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for the film Stronger than Pain, in 2003.

She is one of the judges in the talent reality show, Nigeria’s Got Talent.
