Outrage over Nazi comparison: Mourinho firmly rejects La Liga chief's explanation

Manager Jose Mourinho has rejected La Liga president Javier Tebas's explanation regarding his comparison of Real Madrid to Joseph Goebbels. The club called for Tebas to resign after he likened their criticism of referees to tactics used by the Nazi propaganda chief.

"I don't want to talk about it; there are certain lines you do not cross. The only justification would be if it were a clinical condition — otherwise, there is no excuse. I don't want to go down that road. Madrid and their fans understand what they are up against.

Given the prestige of this league abroad and the fact that we are reigning world champions, it would be better if we tried to keep this in-house rather than letting it out to the world," AFP quoted Mourinho as saying.
