Negredo Fractures Foot, Set To Miss Premier League Opener

Manchester City’s Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo has been ruled out for the first games of the season due to an injury he sustained.

Negredo fractured his foot in Saturday’s pre-season friendly win over Scottish club Hearts and has revealed this via his Instragram:

The extent of the injury is not yet determined beyond fracture, however, some sections of the British press suggest that he could be out for more than one month.

Negredo netted 23 goals and provided eight assists in 49 outings for the Citizens last season, 9 of those goals coming in the Premiership.
