Omoyemi Akerele is the founder and executive director of Style House Files and Lagos Fashion and Design Week.

Prior to her fashion career, Omoyemi had a big background in Law. She is a graduate of University of Lagos where she obtained a bachelor's degree in Law and has a masters degree in International Economic Law from University of Warwick. After that, she worked at Olaniwun Ajayi a Nigerian law firm & Co for 3 years before moving into fashion.

She then worked as the fashion editor for True Love, a Lifestyle magazine, and then set up an image consulting agency with a local Nigerian celebrity stylist, Bola Balogun.

Her start up, Style House Files, is a pioneer fashion image consultancy and creative direction agency that primarily focuses on the Nigerian and African Fashion Industry. She then launched the Lagos Fashion and Design Week (LFDW) in 2011.

Now in its ninth year, LFDW brings the key players in the Nigerian and African fashion industry every year, with the aim of driving commerce and creativity in the industry. It has grown to be one of the most anticipated fashion events in Africa, partnering with the biggest brands such as the British Fashion Council, while drawing international media attention and buyers.

Omoyemi's contributions in fashion have been recognised far and wide, giving her face-time in Elle, Businessday and many more. She has been honoured by the prestigious Business of Fashion and reached the finals of the Tommy Hilfiger Social Innovation Challenge.
