Super Eagles midfielder named in EFCC's case against Wolves FC

According to a report by QEDng, Etebo and Daniel Akpeyi were named in the formal petition to the EFCC against Warri Wolves FC.

Both players were named among the 34 aggrieved former Wolves players seeking payment of salaries and bonuses since 2014 to the tune of ₦300 million.

Some other Nigeria internationals named in the list include Abu Azeez, Stanley Dimgba and Azubuike Egwuekwe.

Etebo currently plays for English side, Stoke City while Akpeyi, is currently on the payroll of Chippa United in South Africa.

Etebo, Akpeyi played for Wolves

Etebo and Akpeyi played for Wolves in the Nigeria Professional Football League between 2013 and 2015.

While Etebo played with Wolves for two seasons between 2013 and 2015, Akpeyi played for the seasiders for just single season.

Wolves FC was relegated to the lower division in 2016.

Oghenekaro Etebo turned down Premier League for Stoke City

Etebo stated that he down turned down a move to several Premier League sides to play for Stoke City in the second division.

Etebo signed a five year deal for Stoke City which means he will play in the English Championship this season.

In an interview with Stoke City’s official website, Etebo revealed that he had several options to chose from but decided to move to the potters before the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
