Jota Silva has officially joined Olympiacos for the 2026/27 season. The Portuguese international departs Nottingham Forest to represent the Greek champions on a season-long loan with an option to buy, a move that was widely anticipated and has now been confirmed.

After a season that fell short of expectations at Besiktas, also on loan from the English club, the 26-year-old winger is on the move again, aiming to reignite his career at the highest level. In Turkey, he featured in 22 matches and scored five goals, but never truly established himself as an undisputed starter.

The transfer to Olympiacos was also facilitated by the strong ties between the two clubs, both owned by Evangelos Marinakis, ensuring a smooth operation without significant hurdles.

In Greece, Jota Silva will have the opportunity to compete in European competitions (Olympiacos enters the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League) and join a squad that already includes Portuguese talents Diogo Nascimento, David Carmo, Chiquinho, and Gelson Martins.

The Matosinhos native made a name for himself in Portuguese football with Vitória de Guimarães, which earned him a transfer to Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2024.

In 2025, he came very close to reinforcing Sporting, but the registration ultimately failed by mere minutes due to a delay in submitting documentation on the TMS platform, which validates international transfers. Now, he embarks on a new chapter in his career in Greek football, playing for one of the country's historic clubs.
