Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has been nominated for the Barclays Premier League Player of the Month of December.

The Watford striker scored five goals in that month against Liverpool, Sunderland, Norwich and Chelsea.

He will be battling the likes of Arsenal's Mesut Ozil, Marko Arnautovic and Riyad Mahrez, Romelu Lukaku and Dele Alli for the award.

His club manager Quique Sanchez Flores has also been nominated for the Barclays Premier League Manager and Player of the Month awards for December.

In the nominations announced on Thursday, January 13 Flores who guided the Hornets to three important wins in a busy festive schedule, have Arsenal  boss Arsene Wenger, Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri and Crystal Palace coach Alan Pardew.

The winner will be announced on Friday at 6am.
