Striker admits interest in China move

Ighalo has been a subject of interest from several Chinese sides who have offered mouthwatering contracts.

Watford rejected the offers with the striker recently penning a new five-year-contract with the club.

Ighalo has however admitted that he will be interested in a move to China when he completes his unfinished business in England.

“I’m not moved by the money from China. When the time comes, I will go to China,” the striker told the Watford Observer.

“This is not the time to go to China. The money is big, the money is crazy, I know.

“And I am not Cristiano Ronaldo, I’m not Messi. I’m not rich, but I’m contented with what I have, I thank God for what I have

“This is the best league in the world and I hope to keep giving my best every week there. And so, I still have unfinished business in England.”

The 27-year-old in February 2016 revealed that he lost sleep over a huge offer from China that could have earned him £40million over four years.

Hebei China Fortune repeatedly came back with a bigger offer anytime he turned them down but Ighalo rejected them to remain in England with Watford.

"I was very close; they made a £10m bid and were offering me over £200,000 a week; a four-year contract. I couldn’t sleep for three days," the Super Eagles striker told Daily Mail in a recent interview.

"That kind of money is not easy to turn down. Some team-mates in the dressing room were saying, “You can’t miss this chance”. But I don’t jump into decisions like that."

The religious striker revealed that God told him to remain at Watford after he prayed.
