Former Nigeria international
Nsofor has not been with any club since he was released by German Bundesliga 2 side SV Darmstadt.
On Tuesday, Cape Town City announced that they have signed the former Super Eagles striker.
“Cape Town City FC is excited to announce the signing of former @Inter and @WestHamUtd striker Victor Obinna!” the club announced on their Twitter page.
“It’s a pleasure for me, a privilege for me to have joined this family. I saw a club that has the ambition to succeed,” Nsofor is heard saying in a video released on Twitter to announce his signing.
“I’m here to contribute to the success of this team.”
The 30-year-old signed had trials with the Benni Mccarthy coached side before he signed a one-year-deal with them. He will wear the No 12 jersey.
Cape Town City is Nsofor’s eighth club since he left Nigeria for Italian club Chievo in 2005.
He played for the likes of Inter Milan, Málaga, West Ham and Lokomotiv Moscow.
The striker has represented Nigeria at various levels from Flying Eagles, Dream Team to the Super Eagles.
He was part of the Super Eagles team that won bronze at the 2006 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.
Nsofor was also part of the Nigeria’s U-23 that won silver in the football event of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
