Wike, a staunch Real Madrid fan is planning to open an avenue of young football to develop their talents.

The Rivers State Governor stated this at the party parade which he hosted to celebrate Real Madrid’s Champions League title win.

According to a statement from Simeon Nwakaudu, the Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor, Electronic Media, Wike has plans to opened discussions with the club management to actualise this goal.

"We will work with the Management of Real Madrid Football Club to ensure that a football academy is sited here in Rivers State. As you know, Rivers State is the headquarters of Real Madrid supporters in Nigeria," Wike said in the statement.

Wike, a Real Madrid supporter, hosted a party parade at the new Rivers State Government House to celebrate their Champions League triumph.

Senior Government officials, Rivers State PDP leaders, Wike’s Commissioners and Special Advisers were all in attendance at the party.

Some Port Harcourt based music acts and comedians were there to entertain guests.
