Nurmagomedov to Jake Paul: You criticize Dana White, but let's see what you pay
Usman Nurmagomedov playfully jabbed at new PFL owner Jake Paul during his post-fight interview, following an impressive first-round knockout victory over Archie Colgan at PFL New York on Saturday morning.
Usman successfully defended his lightweight title and, as of today, is officially a free agent after his PFL contract expired. He hinted to Jake Paul that now is the time to see how much he's willing to pay his fighters, especially after consistently criticizing Dana White for the low purses in the UFC.
“Discipline and tough sparring sessions with two-time UFC champion and legend Islam Makhachev. That’s how you improve. All success comes from God, from Allah. We believe in that and we put in the work in the gym. As I said, I train incredibly hard. I push myself harder than anyone else in the world in the 70-kilogram division. There’s only one person who trains harder than me – Islam Makhachev. But I try to follow him, and that’s why the good results come.
That strike just took his legs out from under him. I think I can do even better.
We'll see what happens. This was the last fight on my contract. MVP always talks about Dana and says he doesn't pay enough. Now we'll see how they intend to pay,” the champion stated.
