Tensions are rising ahead of the ABA League eternal derby, scheduled for Sunday, April 19th. After Partizan rejected Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet's request to postpone the match due to their upcoming EuroLeague play-in commitments, the club from Mali Kalemegdan issued a new statement to the public.

Crvena Zvezda requested that the ABA League postpone their match against Partizan, scheduled for Sunday, April 19th, due to their EuroLeague play-in game on Tuesday. However, Partizan rejected this request.

Following this, Crvena Zvezda issued a new statement to the public, which we present in full:

KK Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet wishes to inform the public that on Friday, it sent an official request to the ABA League for the postponement of the 8th-round match of the ABA League Top 8 phase. This request detailed the reasons to ABA League Sports Director Milija Vojinović: - KK Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet is scheduled to play a EuroLeague play-in game on April 21, 2026, for which the venue is currently unknown. - KK Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet made the only possible concession (though not obligated to) on Monday, April 13, 2026, by offering to play the 8th-round Top 8 phase match on Saturday! This proposal was, for reasons unclear to us, rejected! - KK Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet awaits the decision of the ABA League and its Sports Director regarding our request. No one else can make this decision except him, which is why the request was exclusively addressed to him! - We are obliged to remind everyone that as a club, during April 2023 (when Milija Vojinović was also the ABA League Sports Director), we were extremely constructive and did not react to multiple postponements of the ABA League playoffs, which were supposed to start on April 29, 2023. Therefore, guided by previous cases, we demanded that ABA League Sports Director Milija Vojinović postpone the match scheduled for Sunday and set a new date in accordance with the EuroLeague playoff developments, which we are set to play as early as Tuesday. KK Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet demands that a solution be found in accordance with the existing calendar, which certainly allows for the match to be played without compromising the integrity of the competition.
