Bulgarian driver Nikola Tsolov completed 400 kilometers by lunchtime during his inaugural Formula 1 car test at the Imola circuit today. The requirement for a super license to participate in a Formula 1 free practice session is 300 incident-free kilometers within a single day.
“Nikola has barely been out of the car since this morning,” explained Nikolay Varbitsaliev, a member of Nikola Tsolov's team, to Sportal.bg. “He’s covered 400 kilometers from morning until the lunch break and will continue driving this afternoon. The only limitation will be his physical endurance, but for now, there are no complaints, no neck pain, everything is fine. Nikola is exceptionally well-prepared for this test.”
“Almost every series of laps, the team in the pit lane adjusts Nikola's car settings so he can get accustomed to the controls and the car's behavior. He's driving with various tires, primarily hard and soft compounds designed for testing.”
“Crucially, the team is pleased with the data they are receiving from Nikola, as well as his pace. He is performing within the best expectations. He is focused, and everything is going more than well.”
