Nigeria will play Japan in the early hours of Friday, August 5 in their first Group B game of the football event of Rio 2016 Olympics.
While Dream Team VI squad is currently on their way to Manaus, scheduled to arrive just a few hours before the game, their Japanese counterparts have been in the city since Sunday, July 31.
The Japanese team arrived at their hotel located on the outskirts of Manaus around midnight.
Members of the squad went to the stadium together in the morning of the following day to get an ID card required for the tournament.
The rest of the day was free for the players with some choosing to have a tour of nearby Negro River.
National Director of Team Japan Shimoda Masahiro says the weather hasn't been hotter that they expected.
"It's not hotter than we expected. It's similar to the Japanese climate and we are getting used to the hot temperature," he said.
In preparation for their game against Nigeria, Japan on Saturday, July 30, lost to Brazil 2-0 in a warm-up game.
Juventus target Gabriel and defender Marquinhos scored a goal each for the Brazil side.
