The Sports Ministry and National Olympic Committee have not been able to provide adequate funds for players and officials of the Dream Team VI in Rio.

The team has experienced financial difficulties all through their stay in Rio and the NFF have ordered two players and an officials to return home.

Alternate players Stanley Dimgba and goalkeeper Yusuf Mohammed alongside the team’s media officer, Timi Ebikagboro flew out of Brazil in the early hours of Tuesday, August 16.

“We said they should send them back home if they could not take care of them (players and officials,” NFF told .

Ebikagboro took to Twitter to deny reports that he was sent home by the Sports Ministry and revealed he and other the two players chose to leave.

“Not accredited for the Rio games, don't want to join issues, but trying to state things the way they are, God bless Nigeria,” he wrote on Twitter.

The Dream Team VI will on Wednesday, August 17 face Germany in the semi-finals of the football event.
