Striker fined by Wolfsburg for late coming

The controversial striker turned up at training, 45 minutes late with the excuse that he ignored his alarm.

He was made to train away from the squad and fined €50 for every minute he was late - a total of €2,250.

“I have overslept, I even ignored my alarm clock. My mistake,” the former Arsenal striker told German newspaper Bild.

Wolfsburg manager, Dieter Hecking however says any offence at the club must attract consequences.

The 28-year-old has scored just four goals this season.
