Ngozi Okobi: Super Falcons midfielder celebrates husband on wedding anniversary
Super Falcons of Nigeria midfielder Ngozi Sonia Okobi-Okeoghene has praised her husband as she celebrated their anniversary.
The 27-year-old married real estate mogul Ahmed Okeoghene on December 9, 2017.
On Thursday, December 9, 2021, Ngozi celebrated the special occasion with pictures on her official Instagram account.
Along with the photos was a message that said, "Happy anniversary to us. It has been an amazing journey all these years, distance and all you’ve been so supportive. I love ❤️ you baby, thanks for been my strength."
Okobi is one of the key players with the Super Falcons lifting the African Women's Nations Cup (AWCON) on four occasions.
She started development with the Flamingos team that went to the 2008 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in New Zealand.
She also was part of the Falconets squad that went to the 2010 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Trinidad and Tobago and the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Japan.
Her professional career started in the Nigeria Women's Professional Football League (NWPL) with Delta Queens.
She then moved to American professional women's soccer outfit Washington Spirit.
Okobi joined Swedish side Vittsjö GIK before signing for her current club, Eskilstuna United.
