The
Amaju Pinnick led NFF has been hindered by the lack of financial strength in their quest to hire a foreign coach for the Super Eagles of Nigeria and among other Nigerian media platforms reported that NNPC has come to the aid of the federation with a $1.5 million (N517m) bail-out.
Speaking to Pulse, Chairman of the NFF Media and Publicity Committee, Hon. Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande, denied the report stating that ‘nobody in the NFF or NNPC discussed the matter.
“There is no iota of truth in it,” Yahaya-Kwande said.
He further stated that the cash strapped NFF would be happy if the NNPC help the NFF.
The NFF according to several reports have agreed a N16.2m per month deal with Frenchman .
The Federal Government through the Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalung has made it clear that they would not help the NFF with funds to pay a foreign coach.
