Newcastle secured a 2-0 victory on the road against Crystal Palace. Following a dull first half, the Magpies struck twice early in the second period to wrap up all three points. William Osula broke the deadlock in the 47th minute before Harvey Barnes sealed the win in the 58th minute.

The London outfit started the brighter of the two sides and had the upper hand during an otherwise uneventful opening 45 minutes. However, Newcastle took control after the break. Osula met a Jacob Murphy cross to score his first goal since May. Joe Willock then had a strike ruled out before Barnes doubled the visitors' advantage. Lukas Hornicek was called into action to deny efforts from Adam Wharton and substitute Dario Osorio, but Newcastle held on comfortably to preserve their clean sheet.

This was a vital triumph for Newcastle, who had suffered three defeats in their previous four Premier League outings. Another positive for Matthias Jaissle was the return of Dan Burn, who made his first league start of the campaign. Meanwhile, Palace sit just a point above the relegation zone after slumping to their fifth defeat in eight league matches this season.
