Dalung, Ambode inspect stadium facilities

Sports Minister Solomon Dalung and Governor of Lagos Akinwunmi Ambode on Wednesday, March 1 went on an inspection tour of the national stadium in Lagos.

Lagos State governor Ambode has expressed his concerns for the dilapidated state of the National Stadium and revealed his intention to renovate it.

He joined Sports Minister, Dalung who is on a two-day visit to Lagos on an inspection tour of the National Stadium.

The tour started at about 10 am with the Governor and Minister starting off the tour at the indoor basketball complex of the stadium.

They inspected the facilities at the indoor table tennis court, the football grounds and ended the tour at the main bowl of the National Stadium.

After the inspection, Dalung confirmed that the Federal government have permitted Ambode and the Lagos state government to take control of the National Stadium.

Ambode in his final statement to the press appreciated the permission from the Federal Government and promised to return the National Stadium to its position as the number one ground in Nigeria.
