Mr P drops latest single 'Chukwu Mee,' a soulful anthem of faith, patience and everyday hustle

Nigerian Afropop star Mr P ushers in the next chapter of his music with “Chukwu Mee.” The reflective yet uplifting new single arrives ahead of his forthcoming album set for November.

Built around the realities of the everyday hustle, Chukwu Mee finds Mr P speaking to anyone who has had to keep showing up even when progress feels slow. Rather than romanticising success as something that happens overnight, the record celebrates patience, work, faith and the quiet determination required to stay the course.

“We had nothing, just a dream / Every morning, same routine,” he sings in the opening verse, immediately establishing the song’s grounded perspective. From there, Mr P moves naturally between English, Nigerian Pidgin and Igbo, creating a record that feels both deeply personal and instantly familiar.

At the centre of the song is its simple prayer: “Chukwu mee, ka ọ dị mma” — a heartfelt appeal to God for things to turn out well. It is not a request for excess, but for the dignity of seeing one’s labour rewarded: “Bless our work, make e show.” That sentiment gives Chukwu Mee its emotional core.

The record also draws heavily from Igbo expressions of resilience and traditional wisdom. Lines such as “Nwayọ nwayọ” reinforce the idea of moving gradually and trusting the process, while “Onye kwe, Chi ya ekwe” speaks to the relationship between personal resolve and divine support.

That philosophy becomes even more pronounced in the bridge, where Mr P repeats “No rush, no force, e go come, by grace,” before invoking the Igbo proverb “Aka aja na-ebute ọnụ mmanụ;” an expression that connects diligent work with eventually enjoying the rewards of that labour.

Coming ahead of his forthcoming album, ‘OG Forever’, “Chukwu Mee” signals a reflective side of Mr P's next musical chapter — one concerned not only with celebration, but with the journey that comes before it.

For anyone building something, waiting on something, praying over something or simply trying to make tomorrow better than today, Chukwu Mee offers a straightforward message to keep working and believing.
