Super Eagles winger Moses Simon ended an 8-game goal drought on Sunday afternoon as Nantes saw off a spirited Bordeaux side in the French Ligue 1.

Simon grabbed a goal and an assist for Nantes as they came from behind three times to grab a thrilling 5-3 victory in front of their home fans.

The Nigerian international took his goal records to four (4) goals and eight (8) assists, as he continues a productive season for Nantes.

Nantes survive relentless Bordeaux

Simon made his 27th league start of the season for Nantes as they welcomed a relegation-threatened Bordeaux side to the Stade de la Beaujoire.

Bordeaux were quicker out of the blocks as they scored two quick goals courtesy of M'baye Niang (6') and Javairo Dilrosun (18') to take the lead.

Nantes grabbed two goals to level the scores within the first six minutes of the second half but fell behind again to Enock Kwateng's 67th-minute goal.

Moses Simon to the rescue for Nantes

Largely kept silent before now, Moses Simon came to life to produce an assist for Kalifa Coulibaly in the 72nd minute to drag Nantes level again. 

Four minutes later, the Nigerian international grabbed his goal to put Nantes ahead for the first time in the match.

This was the first time Moses Simon would score for Nantes since he found the net against Reims on February 13, a run of 8 games. 

That was Simon's last meaningful action in the match as he was replaced by French youngster Willem Geubbels in the 85th minute.

The victory takes Nantes up to ninth on the Ligue 1 table, momentarily ahead of Lille pending the outcome of the match against fifth-placed Strasbourg.
