Younger brother of late politician in court for defrauding pastor

A pastor has accused Mabuisiru Abiola of defrauding him the sum of N1.5m.

Pastor John Joseph of the Gospel Apostolic Church brought took the accusation to the police who arrested Mabusiru who is the younger brother of the late winner of the annulled June, 12, 1993 Presidential election and charged him to an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court.

In the case against Mabuisiru Abiola, police say he sold one acre of land to the pastor and another person. The police prosecutor, Inspector Augustine Ozimini, told the court that Maburisiru committed the crime on Saturday, May 17.

Mabisiru Abiola however pleaded not guilty to the charges against him and was granted bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Magistrate Emmanuel Adekunte adjourned the case to Tuesday, January 20.
