Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao has reacted to his country’s win in the Miss Universe beauty pageant is a revenge for .

Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach was named the winner of the Miss Universe on Sunday, December 20 ending a 42-year Miss Universe drought for the country.

For Manny Pacquiao who lost the ‘Fight of the Century’ to Mayweather, Miss Philippines’ win is a revenge for his loss on May 2.

"Courage is grace under pressure. This is what Pia showed in the middle of the confusion and controversy that marked her coronation as the new Miss Universe,” Pacquiaospoke on the controversial mistake of the host of Miss Universe, Steve Harvey when he announced the wrong winner.

“Remember, when I lost to Floyd last May, she made a promise to all of us Filipinos that she will avenge that defeat come the Miss Universe pageant, which she just has fulfilled.

“I intend to use [that] as an inspiration and additional motivation for me in my next fight."
