Microsoft has announced in a blog post that in a mere 24 hours after the launch, Windows 10 is already installed on more than 14 million computers.

The number could have been even bigger, but Microsoft is delivering the update to those who reserved it "in phases" to ensure the process goes smoothly for everyone and the Internet is not 'broken'.

"While we now have more than 14 million devices running Windows 10, we still have many more upgrades to go before we catch up to each of you that reserved your upgrade," wrote Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft's corporate vice president.

Users who reserved their upgrade, but haven't received it yet, should watch out for a notification in their system tray.
