Arsenal assist king Mesut Ozil has been named the German Player of the Year 2015 award.

The 27-year-old has been in top form for Arsenal this season as the Gunners seek their first Premier League title since 2004.

This is the fourth time the former Real Madrid midfielder has won the award in five years.

He was consistent for Germany in 2015 playing as they strolled to Euro 2016.

He got 45.9 per cent of the votes to finish above second placed Thomas Muller (15.9%) and Jonas Hector (13.6%) in third.

Ozil played eight out of nine international matches, he was on the pitch an average 94.38 mins / game and ran a total of 92.71 kilometres in eight games.

The midfielder had 14 shots on goal,  made six assists and made 612 passes in the year – an average of 76.5 / game.
