Manchester United chief executive Omar Berrada and sporting director Jason Wilcox have arrived at the club's training ground to continue discussions that are widely expected to lead to Michael Carrick's dismissal. According to journalist Samuel Luckhurst, club captain Bruno Fernandes is also present at Carrington, despite the squad being handed a scheduled day off. Fernandes was left out of the starting lineup against Bournemouth after reportedly questioning Carrick's tactics in the wake of Wednesday's 4-1 defeat to Como. He remained an unused substitute as Harry Maguire took the captain's armband. The 32-year-old only began warming up in the 58th minute, drawing a mixed reaction from the Old Trafford crowd.
United's hierarchy held internal talks on Sunday evening regarding the club's next steps, but have yet to reach an agreement with Carrick's camp over a compensation package. Following the humiliating home defeat to Bournemouth, Carrick spoke briefly with Berrada and Wilcox before leaving Old Trafford.
