Manchester City has officially announced the long-anticipated record signing of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest. The deal between the two clubs, valued at an impressive £116 million and marking a club record, was agreed upon weeks ago. However, its completion, including the player's medical examinations, was contingent on England's World Cup campaign concluding. The midfielder has penned a five-year contract with the Citizens. Anderson was also a prime target for Manchester United but ultimately chose to move to the Etihad, where he will work under new manager Enzo Maresca as City embarks on a new project following Josep Guardiola's departure.

“Manchester City is one of the biggest clubs in the world, and their squad is incredible – they have unique players in every position. As soon as I knew they wanted me, I was absolutely certain I would make this move. As a footballer, you want to test yourself at the highest level, and City offers me that opportunity. From the outside, Manchester City is a club that treats its players well and provides perfect conditions. The successes they've achieved, and their style of play over the last ten or fifteen years, have been exceptional. It's a privilege to get the chance to be a part of all this,” Elliot Anderson stated on the club's website.
