These are five things we learnt from the Sunday's English Premier League thriller.

made a statement of intent with the 3-0 trashing of Chelsea at the Etihad on Sunday, August 16.

1.  Eden Hazard is overrated

He was no doubt imperious for Chelsea last season as they won the EPL, but Hazard's overall quality as been grossly overated.

He has hidden all through the game against City, proving that Jose Mourinho's comparison with the his forward with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo is far fetched.

2. Sergio Aguero is the best striker in England

Stale facts though.

Much noise was made Diego Costa's 20 goals return last season, Aguero took home the EPL golden boot despite City's unimpressive league run.

This season he has continued from where he stopped scoring an impressive goal against Chelsea. With four players in front of him, Aguero turned Gary Cahill, evaded the rest and finished past Begovic into the far corner.

3. Asmir Begović is a reliable deputy

After the sale of Petr Cech to Arsenal, JoseMourinho raided StokeCity for a like replacement.

Begovic however never expecetd to be called into action so soon but following Thibaut Courtois' red card last week against Swansea, Begovic was called in to deputise and he did that impressively.

Yes, he let three goals in, but it could have been worse for Chelsea of not for the 28-year-old.

4. Chelsea have not improved

Last week I opined that Chelsea players seem not to be ready for the new season.

Now I think they are ready but not just good like they were last season.

It is hard buying players to replace those who just won the league title, defending champions seem to have that problem often.

They have not improved from last season whereas their opponents have added to their game.

Manchester United won the league in 2013, did not improve the squad, they lost it; Manchester City did the same after winning the league in 2014, now it seems Chelsea are towing that line too.

5. Manchester City are the team to beat

Vincent Kompany seems to be back in his groove, Mangala seems to be solid, Fernandinho and YayaToure are looking like the ideal midfield pair, Silva is still running things while Sergio Aguero remains Aguero.

City are back and seem on their way to reclaiming the title.
