Sammy Ameobi Dumps England, Opts For Nigeria

After watching his older brother represent the Fatherland, Sammy Ameobi is willing to follow in the footsteps of Shola, having made several appearances for the England U-21.

The older Shola wanted an England call up but did not get any beyond the England U-21 and this may have helped the decision of Newcastle's Sammy Ameobi to switch allegiance to the 2013 African Champions.

The Ameobi's moved to England when Shola was 5, there Sammy was born; the 22 year-old Newcastle winger thanks his older brother for being the pillar of support and direction in his life.
