Raul Fernandez is set to start today's Indonesian Grand Prix from pole position—his first-ever in MotoGP—yet question marks remain over whether the Spaniard will take his place on the grid.

The uncertainty stems from a fractured index finger on his right hand, an injury Fernandez picked up during a crash early in yesterday's Sprint at Mandalika. Critically, this is the exact finger he relies on for braking.

During the morning warm-up, the Trackhouse Aprilia rider adapted by using his middle finger to operate the brake lever, clocking the second-fastest time in the brief 10-minute session. Despite the strong lap time, he was visibly uncomfortable on his bike, leaving his race participation in doubt. Fernandez is expected to attempt the start, with the option to retire to the pits if the pain proves too severe.
