Harry Maguire will miss Manchester United's crucial clash against Chelsea after being handed a one-match ban for his conduct towards the fourth official during their match against Bournemouth.
The English Football Association (FA) sanctioned the England international defender with a one-game suspension and a £30,000 fine. The penalty stems from his abusive language directed at fourth official Matt Donohue following his sending off in the March 20th fixture.
The 33-year-old defender had received a red card from referee Stuart Attwell for denying Evanilson a clear goal-scoring opportunity. Due to that dismissal, Maguire already sat out his team's 2-1 home defeat to Leeds last Monday (April 13th).
Maguire's absence creates a significant defensive headache for Manchester United, as Lisandro Martinez will also be unavailable for the Chelsea game after being sent off against Leeds.
