‘EFCC chairman has been terrorizing Senate because we rejected him,’ Senator says
Senator Francis Alimikhena has said that the acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC),
The Senate, on March 15, refused to confirm Magu for the position citing a report by the Department of State Services (DSS) which questioned his integrity.
“Let’s hear from @MBuhari on Magu's case, Magu is terrorizing us, because we disqualified him,” the Senate twitter handle quoted Senator Alimikhena as saying.
The Senate also postponed the screening and confirmation of 27 Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari for two weeks in protest of Magu’s continued stay as acting EFCC Chairman despite the rejection
“Sen. Uroghide also wants the request to be stand down, cites Magu's case, that after their decision he is still acting Chairman of the EFCC,” the Senate handle wrote.
Senate President, Bukola Saraki had earlier accused Magu of trying to drag his name in the mud because he had been rejected by the legislative chamber.
