Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique has declared his team "feels good" and the players are "ready" to clinch trophies as the season draws to a close.
"There are moments that all players in the squad love. This is the part of the season where we need to win trophies, and we feel good; the players are ready for the final stretch of the season. We're not doing anything differently; we're trying to balance injuries, player fitness, and playing time," stated the Spanish coach at his press conference, three days after securing a spot in the Champions League semi-finals, where they will face Bayern Munich.
The coach revealed that midfielder Fabian Ruiz is set to return to action after a three-month absence due to injury. "He's doing well, he's training, and if all goes normally, he'll be in the squad tomorrow and will play for the first time since his injury," he said of the Spanish international ahead of the match against Lyon. Désiré Doué, who sustained a minor knee injury in the second leg against Liverpool, will be part of the team, but Nuno Mendes, who has a thigh issue, continues to train in the gym.
"Is PSG stronger than last season? I don't know. Whether we are stronger or not as strong isn't that important. At this level, it's incredible," commented Enrique, who believes there is no clear favorite in the clash between his team and Bayern Munich. "It's not about who is the favorite, but who performs on the pitch. We are playing in our third consecutive semi-final, and we are proud," the manager emphasized.
