Liverpool Favored to Land Bournemouth Defender

Liverpool is currently in the most favorable position to sign Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi. The 28-year-old Argentine's contract with the Cherries expires after the current season, making him an attractive free agent target for most top clubs. Chelsea and Manchester United are also reportedly interested, while Italian sources claim Juventus and Roma have already held talks with his representatives. However, the player's preference is said to be remaining in the Premier League.

According to I Paper, Senesi's agents have already informed Bournemouth that the defender will not sign a new contract. They are actively working to find him a new team, with the publication suggesting Liverpool is the most likely destination.

Liverpool has already secured the transfer of Jérémy Jacquet, and Giovanni Leoni is expected to return to action soon after a serious knee injury. However, the futures of Ibrahima Konaté and Joe Gomez are uncertain, and Virgil van Dijk turns 35 in July. Due to a lack of alternatives, the Dutchman has already played 49 matches this season, but it's unlikely he can endure another equally demanding campaign.
