Leeds United secured a crucial 3-0 home victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in a Premier League Matchday 33 fixture. Bulgaria's 2025 Footballer of the Year, Ilia Gruev, entered the fray for the Yorkshire side in the 78th minute, replacing Brenden Aaronson.

Leeds quickly established a two-goal lead. In the 18th minute, following a scramble from a corner kick, James Justin found the net with an overhead kick. Just two minutes later, Noah Okafor, who assisted the first goal, also scored after a long pass from Aaronson. After these two quick goals, the pace of the game slowed. It wasn't until the 82nd minute that Adam Armstrong thought he had pulled one back for the 'Wolves,' but his effort was disallowed for offside. In contrast, in added time, the hosts scored a third goal when Dominic Calvert-Lewin converted a penalty he earned himself after being fouled by Santiago Bueno.

With this win, Leeds accumulated 39 points, solidifying their 15th-place position in the standings and moving further away from the relegation zone. Wolverhampton Wanderers, however, remain rooted to the bottom with a mere 17 points. They could face relegation to the Championship as early as tonight if Tottenham defeat Brighton, or on Monday if West Ham avoids defeat against Crystal Palace.
