Four Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) clubs have been fined the organisers of the league for crowd trouble.
The League Management Company (LMC) have fined Nasarawa United, Giwa FC, Abia Warriors and Heartland various sums of money following the unruly conduct of their fans at match venues over the weekend.
According to a LMC statement obtained by Pulse Sports, the clubs have been fined for various breaches bordering on their inability to provide adequate security and unacceptable behavior of the fans.
Nasarawa United were fined N500,000 for the unruly conduct of their fans in the match against Lobi Stars and were warned against future occurrence.
Giwa FC were fined N500,000 for the unruly behaviour of their fans during last weekend's game against Kano Pillars, while another N250,000 was also imposed on them for failure to ensure adequate security at the Rwang Pam Stadium.
Heartland and Abia Warriors were fined N500,000 for the unruly behaviour of their fans and failure to provide a safe environment in their homes games against Enyimba and Rangers respectively.
The chairman of Heartland FC supporters club, Iyke Jacob, was handed a six-match ban for acts of intimidation and harassment of referees.
