Competing in the women's -45kg Powerlifting event of the Games, Tijani entered the competition at 101, while other competitors attempted below 100.

She lifted 101 to smashed a Paralympic record which was shortlived as China's Dandan Hu set a new one of 102.
It was an intense competition ensued between Tijani and Hu but the Nigerian failed at her attempt at 104.
She fell to third place and was overtaken by Zoe Newson of Great Britain who led with 102 while Hu was third also with 102.
Hu was impressive, smashing the Paralympic record which is set with a new one of 105.

Tijani went into the lead again creating another Paralympic record of 106.0 but Hu smashed it again with a record of 107.0.
Hu then set the World and Paralympics record with 108.0 to win gold.
Tijani settled for silver while Newson won bronze.
