Kurt Zouma: France Coach Didier Deschamps admits 'shock' over cat kicking video
West Ham defender Kurt Zouma has continued to be the subject of discussion across the footballing world this week.
The 27-year-old France International was captured kicking and slapping his pet cat in his Essex mansion while being filmed by his brother Yoan.
The France international has been widely criticized for abusing the Bengal, with RSPCA taking away the player's pets amid their investigation.
Now France coach Didier Deschamps has slammed Zouma and admitted he was 'very surprised' by the horrific footage.
"I was very surprised by Kurt," he said. "This is something that is inadmissible, intolerable and cruelty without a name.
"I’m sure he became aware of it but these images are shocking and unbearable."
"I'm not a prosecutor. I am here to make selections on different criteria.
"It could have happened to me when players could have made mistakes not to select them for a while, so I will not change my way of doing things for the next list.", the France manager said.
Deschamps had picked Zouma for his 26-man squad for Euro 2020 last summer although, the 27-year-old didn't play a game in the tournament.
He has 11 international caps to his name after making his France senior debut in 2015.
The Frenchman has also been suspended temporarily by West Ham as calls continue to grow for the West Ham sacked to be ultimately sacked after he was selected to play in West Ham's 1-0 win over Watford on Tuesday night and could miss West Ham's crunch Premier League fixture against Leicester City on Sunday
