Columbus Blue Jackets forward Boone Jenner sidelined for one-two months

Columbus Blue Jackets forward Boone Jenner is expected to miss one to two months due to a stress fracture in his back.

The Blue Jackets made the announcement on Saturday after placing Jenner on the injured reserve list.

It is remains unclear when the injury was sustained but the 21-year-old said his back had been bothering him for some time.

Jenner, who missed the first month of the NHL season because of a broken hand, has six goals and six assists in 20 games for the Blue Jackets.

Center Sean Collins has been recalled from American Hockey affiliate the Springfield Falcons in Massachusetts.

The Blue Jackets boast a 14-15-3 record after edging the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 on Saturday.
