Kimi Raikkonen was critical of Ferrari's decision to delay his opening pit stop as he finished 10th at the Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday.

Raikkonen qualified eighth-fastest for the main race in Spielberg and was as high as third before fading away on the supersoft tyres - eventually finishing 10th behind winner Nico Rosberg of Mercedes.

The Finn, who was told to slow down after just two laps, was bemused as to why Ferrari did not let him enter the pits earlier at the Red Bull Ring.

"For me it was very bad timing for the pit stop," Raikkonen said on a day that saw team-mate Fernando Alonso place fifth.

"My tyres were not good and I lost two places on the in-lap. I really needed to stop earlier but obviously I don't know what the reasons were why we stopped at that point.

"It cost some places and with the speed that I had there was no way to get anything back. So that was not very good."
